Football Blocking Shields: Square Pads vs. The Colt
Football training programs have traditionally used square pads to enforce blocking or tackling techniques. Square pads stand around four feet high and rest on the ground. Most importantly, the pads are static and do not adjust to a player’s movements.
They also require a padded player to hold up the pad, as the force of the blows are too violent for a non-padded player to handle.
